Cake Boss Cakes

Hey, sorry haven't blogged for a while, been so busy lately. Anyway, I watch this really great show called Cake Boss on the channel TLC and it's a program pretty much about the cakes and things they make in Carlo's bakery. It's fascinating how they make so many delicious looking cakes and how they can make them look so realistic. All of the food they make is just simply fantastic. So this post is just a review on some of my personal favorite cakes that they have made there. Hope you like it!

So this was a cake that Carlo's bakery made for a couple's wedding a while ago and it was amazing. One of the things that I love most about it is the attention to detail and the almost perfect resemblance to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I think it's awesome how unique and original this cake was and it's lovely that the bride and groom are on it as well.

Well this is a life sized Nascar made entirely of cake! Again, the attention to detail is phenomenal and it looks so realistic. This is one of my favourite cake designs because it's big and really resembles what it's supposed to be.

This beautiful cake is one of the nicest wedding cakes that I have seen. In my opinion it is so elegant and I would love my wedding cake to be as unique and as lovely as this one. It is one of my favourite cakes that was on Cake Boss because it is so feminine and unique.

Thanks, I hope you enjoyed my blog post will post again soon! Love India xx

Fabulous maxi dresses

For this post I am going to review some beautiful, summery maxi dresses. Maxi dresses are one of my favourite kinds of dresses as they are suited to any summer, hot weathered occasion.

White Pattern (White) Misumi Pink and White Floral Puffball Maxi Dress | 288346619 | New Look
I'm going to start off by writing about this lovely Misumi pink and white Floral Puffball dress which you can buy from Newlook for £22.99. The floral design is really fashionable right now and the roses really give the dress a feminine and glamorous look. Its puffball top and casual fit makes it ideal for any occasion. This long dress will look best with a pair of wedge sandals in my opinion and they will really tie in with the summery feel to the outfit.

I also love this strapless leopard print maxi dress that costs £14.99 from H&M. Animal prints are really popular at the moment so it would look stylish and elegant anywhere. It's made from 100% viscose so it will be light and flowy to keep you cool in the hot summer weather that is to come. This dress also has a perfectly elasticated smocking at the top which in my opinion looks stylish and beautiful.

This violet Chiffon Bandeau dress from Topshop could be yours for £40.00. It is so madly elegant and beautifully shaped that it is perfect for the beach or any other summer occasion. The plain and simple design is majestic and feminine and would fit perfectly with a pair of violet or ultramarine blue gladiator sandals. The elasticated waist is helpful and the light polyester material is perfectly light and fitting.

Recipe No.1: Stuffed couscous bell peppers

A simple but tasty meal, and is one of my absolute favourites. So simple to make and perfect for dinner parties or just a delicious main course. You can really make them your own by mix-matching the herbs and other ingredients that you use. This recipe will serve 6 and you can swap the veggies if their not quite to your taste: Prep time; around 20-30 mins; Cooking time: 30 mins

You will need:

  • 6 large bell peppers (a mixture of colours)
  • 2 cups of cooked couscous
  • The juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 4-5 okra
  • 5 tbsp vegetable or sunflower oil
  • A handful of fresh coriander chopped
  • 85g of rennit free feta cheese

Method:
  1. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6
  2. Chop the onion, garlic and okra into small chunks.
  3. Add the lemon juice, olive/vegetable oil, chopped coriander, garlic and onion to the couscous and stir, fluffing up the couscous with a fork.
  4. Cut the top off of the peppers and empty seeds.
  5. Divide the couscous mix into each of the six peppers evenly and sprinkle cheese over top.
  6. Replace the tops back onto the peppers and roast them on a roasting dish for about 30 mins.

I hope you found my very first recipe on my blog marvellously helpful. Love from India xx

Coffee cupcakes

Cupcakes are great because they are so easy, fun and quick to make. They are perfect for parties, lunch boxes or even just a casual snack. But I think the best part about making cupcakes is that you can really make them your own by personalizing them to your own specific style. My coffee ones are looking a bit plain however when you make them I recommend wafer daisies, sprinkles and lots of icing or butter cream. In fact there are so many variations of cupcakes that are just delicious and come in so many different flavours! My favourite are probably lemon flavoured or double chocolate chip. I also recommend the soft golden edible pearls by Dr. Oetker...

Three gorgeous vintage dresses

Well, it's summer so for my first ever post I am sharing these beautiful summer dresses. The first denim one is perfect for a fabulous summer's day and the birds at the front really compliment the colour of the sky blue denim. The collar and front buttons really add to the sweet, vintage look so a dress like this is really perfect for girly girls. I personally think that it would look best with some brogues or ballet pumps.

This stunning maxi dress is suited to any party, barbecue or get together and the coral pink looks lovely with the brown belt. My personal thoughts are that a pair of tan Roman style sandals will go perfect with a dress like this. The light and flowy material will definitely let you keep your cool whilst looking gorgeous on any occasion.

This dress is my favourite of the three because I love the lace band close to the bottom of the dress and the string belt ties the whole vintage look together. The colours match perfectly together and the tied back just makes the dress have an authentic and fabulous style.
So, what are your thoughts on these absolutely stunning dresses?
I hope you have enjoyed reading my very first post, there will be more soon. Love from India :)xx
